Career
David W. Ross is best known for playing Gary in the Sundance smash Quinceanera (Echo Park, LA), which won both the Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize at the 2006 Sundance Film Festival and an Independent Spirit Award and GLAAD Media Award in 2007 being released by Sony Pictures Classics.
Born in rural England, David moved to London at seventeen, after his mother died of cancer, to pursue a career in the budding remix culture of the early nineties. Within a few months his photo was spotted by a “boy band” producer. David was signed to A&M Records U.K., as one of the four members of Bad Boys, Inc. Tours of Europe and Asia were part of a massive media blitz which accompanied the bands debut single, “Don’t Talk About Love.” With hundreds of live shows, including The Royal Albert Hall for the Prince’s Trust, Wembley Arena, multiple performances on Top of the Pops, the debut episode of England’s Lottery Show – their appearance helping bring 25 Million viewers to the BBC – thousands of magazine covers and television appearances, Ross became a household name over night. The group released one self-titled album, which spawned five hit singles, including the Top 10 smash, “More to this World.”
Wanting to develop his creativity further, David moved to America, where he landed a role in Richard LeMay’s 200 American. David has also appeared in several award-winning projects; “The Receipt”, which won multiple awards including Best Comedy at the Los Angeles International Short Film Festival and Sneaux, which was nominated for 6 LA Weekly Theatre Awards, including Best Musical.
